A housebuilder has planning consent in principle for around 480 homes on a 24-hectare site and needs a layout that is genuinely walkable rather than a cul-de-sac estate with a footpath added. The authority has criticised the previous layout for poor connectivity, blank frontages onto the main street and open space left over rather than designed in. A revised neighbourhood layout is required for a design review meeting.
