Client-style brief
A consultancy has been appointed on a 42-hectare edge-of-settlement site and must produce the spatial evidence base that every later workstream will rely on. The team wants one properly structured project, one set of trustworthy layers and a numbered map series that can be dropped into a report, a client presentation and a pre-application pack without being redrawn each time.
Professional scenario
Synthetic site pack: a boundary polygon, open contour and watercourse data, a settlement layer, a road network, a public rights-of-way layer, a synthetic designations layer and an aerial-style basemap tile set supplied for teaching.
Planning problem

- Presenting a soft constraint as absolute undevelopable land. Correction: Reclassify, restate the net developable area and explain the qualification in the narrative.
